The #WeStandTogether campaign, based in Manchester, is a national initiative promoting community cohesion and unity which was launched following the 2017 attacks in London and Manchester. Their ultimate aim is to encourage people to come together as one and celebrate their differences in order to build a safer and stronger United Kingdom.

To mark Stephen Lawrence Day, they will bring together young people from across different areas of Greater Manchester to discuss the events surrounding Stephen’s death, the aftermath of the Macpherson report and how far our attitudes and behaviours have changed two decades later.

Young people will be exposed to individuals and ideas that they wouldn’t normally come into contact with and be asked to consider what action they can or should take to ensure that they are able to live their best life.
