The Role of Community in Architecture
This year’s Stephen Lawrence Memorial Lecture will move away from the traditional, individual, key note speaker and draw together a wealth of experience and knowledge from 5 speakers from within the field of architecture.
The theme for the 2016 lecture is The Role Of Community In Architecture, which has been chosen by the Stephen Lawrence Alumni who are helping shape this year’s memorial event, the panel has been chosen to reflect that theme.
The memorial lecture will provide the audience with the opportunity to hear first-hand from the panel of experts on how their community roots have influenced their designs. This panel of experts represent individual architects from the local and wider community, all of whom have been a part of designing, creating and inspiring communities across the world, as well as drawing on inspiration from those very communities, creating a synergy between architect and community.
This year, 100 tickets have been made available to students at a reduced rate of £5, in order to provide the very people the trust support the opportunity to be inspired and to speak to individuals who are a part of creating the communities in which they live, study and work.
Thank you to our sponsors to date HKS and JTP. There are sponsorship opportunities still available for the event, will all proceeds going toward to annual Stephen Lawrence Bursary awards, for further information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
