We also support students abroad, for example at the Caribbean School of Architecture, part of the University of Technology in Jamaica, and at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. Many students who study at undergraduate level are unable to complete their qualifications as architects because there is very little financial support available at postgraduate level. Our programme makes a big contribution to helping Caribbean architects to complete their studies.
In February 2002 we launched our bursary programme at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. We're currently supporting three students from underprivileged backgrounds through their first degree. In the future, we plan to expand our bursary programme to cover each and every school of architecture in Britain.
