The Stephen Lawrence Building Futures Programme reaches its interim period, (18 months), of delivery.
The programme is now supporting 125+ young people from disadvantaged and underrepresented back grounds (BME), who wish to pursue a career in architecture;
We provide Work Opportunities, Bursaries, Mentoring Schemes, Workshops and much more….
- We know that BME representation within the profession sits at around 0.9% for fully qualified architects, that is far below the national average of 10% in other leading professions
- We know from the RIBA education statistics that transition points from Part I to Part II is where a large drop off rate is for BME representation, (around 50% of Black British males fail to get from Part I to Part II).
