Join the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust in researching, documenting and celebrating the history of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) architects across England’s 9 regions. Supported by Historic England, this new index links up the heritage and built environment worlds to shine a light on the people and explore the buildings in everyday settings.

We are recruiting small research teams to create this new index. Alongside another volunteer participant, a mentor and a lead researcher – you will lift the lid on BAME architecture that means most to community. Learn about archiving, visit and document significant buildings, interview new communities. Your research will be made publicly available via the index early 2020.

Taking part in this initiative requires a voluntary commitment to key dates for Cohort 1. The workshop date is fixed with desk research allowing some flexibility. All travel expenses will be covered.
