Celebrating National Mentoring Day
This morning we met with some of the mentors on The Stephen Lawrence Building Futures Programme, Celebrating National Mentoring Day; sharing learning and helping shape the programme going forward.
The programme is currently working with over 50 architecture mentors, each of whom are supporting the Trust’s 200 aspiring young architects.
Attending this morning were mentors from Coffey Architects, Hassell, Stiff + Trevillion, Make, Sheppard Robson, KTB Architects and architect Yemi Aladerun.
We explored the power of group mentoring, one-2-one sessions and skills workshops, all of which is having a positive impact on the young people we support, such as Kelvin;
” The Mentoring (at Make Architects) has been an invaluable experience for me. It has provided me with an insight into how practices function , while also widening my architectural knowledge on the whole. I have been able to gain advice on how to improve my portfolio and CV in preparation for finding a (work) placement, while also creating close contacts in the industry.”
– Kelvin Pang, Part I architectural Graduate.
Thank you to all our mentors who are helping shape the futures of the young people we support.
